About Baby Interact

Baby Interact is a new start-up company that specialises in the design of novel interactive devices for babies. The motivating philosophy behind Baby Interact stems from the observation that babies are happier, sleep better, and generally show fewer signs of frustration when they are given some level of control over their environment. Our products combine the use of embedded computing technologies, advanced methods in artificial intelligence and research into the behaviour and sleeping patterns of babies. We are currently in the process of seeking investment to bring our products to the market.

Tom

Tom is a Professor in Experimental Psychology at the University of Bristol, and is interested in perception and vision. Tom invented the first version of bbPod. His background in Psychology gives him the background to objectively evaluate the interaction between bbPod and babies.

Angus is a Research Associate in Computer Science at the University of Bristol. His role at Baby Interact is the design and implementation of the data analysis and machine learning techniques that are embedded in bbPod

Henk

Henk is a Reader in Computer Science at the University of Bristol. He is the head of the Mobile and Wearable Computing group that specialises in the design of novel user-interfaces, sensor techniques and applications. His role in the company is system design and user-interface design. At home he runs room212

Jez
Jez Gardner and Pete Rickett

Jez and Pete are design consultants. They founded designworks windsor in 1991, which is now one of the UK's leading design consultancies. Their role at the Baby Interact is to create visionary designs that are safe and accessible.

Baby Interact won third place in the 2005 Bristol Enterprise Competition. We are registered in England and Wales, no 05414506.
